Pain is a signal that communicates that something in the body requires attention! 

There are two types of pain: ACUTE and CHRONIC.

      • ACUTE pain is onset by something specific (twisted ankle, bump on head, etc.) it usually lasts no longer than 6 months and goes away when the condition is resolved, or part of the body has healed.
      • CHRONIC pain is defined as ongoing pain, lasting for 6 months or more (arthritis, nerve pain, fibromyalgia, etc.).

In some cases, chronic pain has been known to linger long after an imbalance or injury has healed because pain signals sometimes continue to remain active in the nervous system.  In these cases, turning off or turning down the pain signal is an appropriate thing to do so that should you experience another injury or imbalance the signal to that new “incident” will not be concealed by that old, useless, out of date pain program. Also, by continuing to experience old and unnecessary pain a person may start to make changes in the way they hold themselves which alters their posture.  Changes in posture can increase tension and inflammation.  All of which can hold the pain program together. 

Pain and discomfort can give rise to other problems, too.  Persistent muscle tension can cause your posture to fall out of alignment, and reduce range of movement, drain energy, create restlessness, change appetite, moodiness, and distressed emotional states such as depression, anger, anxiety, and fear.  

Discovering the true source of pain can be challenging for individuals.  We don’t want to turn off pain signals that have NOT been adequately addressed, or appropriately diagnosed because it’s often the only form of communication we receive from the body.  Therefore, I require a doctor’s note that confirms a thorough medical evaluation has been carried out to investigate the cause of the pain you are experiencing before we work to mitigate or change it.  I am happy to collaborate with your medical professional, in guiding you to obtain the pain relief you seek. The methods I use are really good at helping you strengthen your mind-body connection and this in itself can be very valuable in monitoring and further troubleshooting the sources of pain.

I am trained in and use a variety of methods with my clients seeking to release or reduce pain.  Some of the methods I use require no trance state at all, while others do.  Each method integrates processes that help to re-wire your brain and effectively eliminate or change the way you experience pain. The methods I use leverage the innate healing process of the body and mind, are safe and non-pharmacological!

Pain control techniques are not only useful in turning down and eliminating aches and pains. They can be employed to help lessen the side effects of surgeries and reduce the amounts medications you may require during and after surgery. There are hypnotic protocols that I use with my clients that can help them be more comfortable coming off of or eliminate the use of painkillers or reducing the amount of chemical anesthesia they might require during minor surgical procedures, visits to the dentist, injections, and other medical procedures.

I always inform my clients and ask their permission before doing any hypnosis. I don’t work ON my clients, but rather I do work with them. I don’t do anything to physically manipulate my clients.  I am not a medical professional and therefore cannot accept Health Insurance.
